Easy Entertaining – Valentine’s Day Cocktails with 21 Seeds
Valentine’s Day is around the corner, which means it’s officially the season for love and blush-colored cocktails. While champagne is nice and romantic, tequila is always the way to my heart…I don’t have a giant margarita glass for nothing! With that in mind, I’m thrilled to share some delicious and festive drink recipes from 21 Seeds (paid partner), along with ideas for styling the perfect Valentine’s Day bar cart.
I’m working with 21 Seeds this season (Insta: @21seeds) and am unashamed to admit that I pursued them! I love this company. It’s female-owned which you know is right up my alley (their tagline is “girls call the shots”), and their partner distillery in Mexico is similarly owned and predominantly staffed by women. They currently offer three fruit-infused tequilas made with all-natural ingredients: Valencia Orange, Grapefruit Hibiscus, and Cucumber Jalapeño. The tequilas are delicious and since the flavor is already infused, you don’t need to add a bunch of mixers. The cherry on top is that the bottles are so pretty and look great on a bar cart.
It’s definitely a fun day at work when your job is drinking and styling cocktails. Molly Sohr and I had a blast playing around with this bar setup and I think it’s perfect for both a Galentine’s micro-gathering or romantic night a duex. 21 Seeds developed two signature drinks for Valentine’s Day – Love Potion and Sweet Tart Margarita – and I can’t wait for y’all to try them and tell me what you think (recipes below).
I love having a signature cocktail for any holiday or event because it makes for a very easy, streamlined bar setup. If possible, I like to have a batch of cocktails mixed and ready to go so you don’t have to prep each one individually. Here we chose to display the Love Potion drink in a clear, crystal decanter to showcase the pretty pink color. It’s unexpected to use decanters for more than just bourbon or scotch, and I like that it brings some height to the bar cart. I know I say this a lot, but it’s important for any setup to have dimension, and including tall elements such as the flowers, bottle, and decanter help achieve this. Mix-and-match vintage glassware adds a romantic touch, as do the heart-topped skewers with berries (note: sideways raspberries look like darling little hearts). For some additional pops of color, we used William Yeoward bowls with strawberries, raspberries, and pomegranate seeds for a mini “garnish bar.” And of course, I had to add pretty cocktail napkins and one final, bougie touch: a foldover card done in calligraphy so everyone knows what they’re drinking (courtesy of the fab @KateFablingCalligraphy).
Happy Valentine’s Day, y’all, and happy drinking!
